“Extravaganza” showcases the brilliance and imagination of early Italian Baroque music in a program for recorder, violin, and continuo. Internationally acclaimed recorder virtuoso Vincent Lauzer joins baroque violinist Tanya LaPerrière and harpsichordist Dorothea Ventura and together the trio embarkes on a vibrant exploration of the bold musical inventions of seventeenth-century Italy. Pallade Musica is celebrated for its historically informed performances, praised for their elegance, expressive depth, and exceptional ensemble playing. About the Artists

Montreal-based Pallade Musica has established itself as one of Canada’s leading period instrument ensembles, celebrated for historically informed performances that combine scholarly research with expressive artistry and exceptional virtuosity. Co-directed by baroque violinist Tanya LaPerrière and recorder virtuoso Vincent Lauzer, the ensemble has earned international acclaim, winning major competitions in New York and Utrecht and receiving multiple Prix Opus nominations for its acclaimed ATMA recordings. The ensemble has appeared at leading festivals and concert series throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe, earning praise for its “spectacular virtuosity” and outstanding ensemble playing.

Recorder player Vincent Lauzer is one of Canada’s foremost early music performers, praised for his virtuosity and expressive interpretations. A recipient of the Fernand Lindsay Career Award, Radio-Canada’s Révélation (2013–14), and a Diapason d’Or for his recording of Vivaldi concertos with Arion Baroque Orchestra, he performs internationally as a soloist while serving as Artistic Director of the Lamèque International Baroque Music Festival and Co-Artistic Director of the Montreal Baroque Festival. Baroque violinist Tanya LaPerrière, recognized for the elegance and passion of her performances, is a graduate of McGill University and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She performs regularly with leading ensembles including Arion, Constantinople, Ensemble Caprice, and Les Idées Heureuses, and has built a distinguished reputation as a concertmaster and leader in Canada’s early music scene. Harpsichordist Dorothea Ventura is a versatile performer, vocal coach, conductor, and educator who has appeared in hundreds of concerts, recordings, and productions across Canada and Europe, many recognized with JUNO, Prix Opus, and ADISQ honours. She teaches at McGill University and has collaborated with many of Canada’s foremost early music ensembles while maintaining an active career as both performer and artistic director.
