About
Musique Royale welcomes the award-winning ArtChoral vocal quartet from June 30th to July 4th, as part of its 40th Summer Festival. ArtChoral has provided outstanding choral music to cities and communities in all 10 Canadian provinces.
The upcoming touring program entitled “Se l’aura spira” (If the air breathed) is inspired by the irresistible baroque song by Girolamo Frescobaldi, with repertoire spanning from the medieval and baroque periods to present day is inspired by nature and the elements, including works by JS Bach, Monteverdi, John Dowland, Purcell, and some popular surprises too.
Recipient of the PRIX OPUS Musical Event of the Year 2020, ArtChoral is a professional vocal ensemble steeped in the grand tradition of choral music in Quebec. The touring vocal quartet is in residence at Montreal’s magnificent Art Deco concert hall, Le 9e Grande Salle.
Concerts take place at historic venues in Mahone Bay, Wolfville, Merigomish, Margaree and Little Narrows.
